Is it possible that Lou bought someone out yesterday and it wasn't reported? It was a big deadline day. Wondering if Hoffman signs after Barzal just in case teams were thinking of offer-sheeting Barzal.

These terms don’t seem accurate, but I would bet Lou knows Ladd will be put on LTIR, and possibly a Boychuk trade. Buyouts weren’t going to help this team since their worst contracts are buyout-proof

Barzal most likely will sign a 2 year deal at $6M Cap hit. This will not bring him to UFA status but will give LL the opportunity to have a few bad contracts come off the books and he can be rewarded then. Hopefully hockey operations and revenue will be back to normal and the new arena will make a difference. Barzal, unlike a certain past star seems to be very loyal to the NYI's.

a couple of quick things, just because someone makes an offer sheet does not mean BARZAL will sign it, for all intents and purposes HE likes the Organization and Loves his Team. That being said Lou Lams is a well respected and who knows what talks he has had with this kid and his agent, maybe there is an understanding that due to league wide cap situation that help us now and we will take care of you later.

Well actually both. I think he's worth the 7.5 area and I would try to get him to at least 5 yrs.

Brand Spanking New State of the Art Arena - Islanders Are not moving. The NHL needs the Rangers/Islanders Rivalry, and there is no love lost on the Devil's either in regards to area Rivalry.
